God is good. End of story.

So, yesterday was quite obviously a difficult day. But I am continuously amazed to see how quickly our perspective, attitude, and emotions can change when we simply change our focus. It isn't that I can somehow magically lift my own spirit by thinking happy thoughts and sweeping my struggles under the rug. . . It is God's work in me (and you!) - aligning our hearts to beat to the right tune, reminding us of all the goodness and potential in our lives and the lives of those around us when we trust in Him and not ourselves.

Today was a crazy day (it included me locking my keys in my running car. . . oh boy!), but one that filled me with hope and joy for the year to come. What a great blessing after a day like yesterday.

This is one of the reasons I cannot fathom any part of God's word being untrue. When I actually live it out - follow its guidelines and walk in Jesus' ways - it WORKS!! That doesn't mean that life is easy or perfect (God never promises that), but that even in sadness and pain we can find hope, comfort, and joy in Him.

I hope you have experienced the great blessing of God's presence and love in your life. It can turn the darkest hours around and lift the heaviest burden. God is good; all the time.
